My friends always joke that ever since I started my corporate job, I’ve been the queen of weekend trips. You never know where I’m going to be when you reach out to ask if I’m in the city. Because I pack up and head out a lot, I am using my travel hacks all the time. As someone who naturally loves to travel, I started learning these things young and have taken them with me as I continue to move around. Here are three tips that will improve your travel and have you looking like a pro.

Tip 1: Find Your Perfect Luggage Soulmate
Your luggage could make or break this trip. It’s that serious. It needs to be sleek, functional, and in my opinion really cute. Weekend trips are short, so they are perfect for a hard-shell carry-on and weekender combo. As an over packer, weekenders don’t get me through the weekend. But they fit perfectly under a plane seat as your personal item. My weekender is perfect. It has a padded place for your laptop, a place on the bottom to store shoes, and big enough to fit all of my toiletries and accessories. (As well as the just in case outfits I throw in last minute as I’m leaving for the airport).
Packing cubes are the best addition to your luggage because not only do they keep it organized and clean, but I like to organize mine by the types of clothes. I know exactly what is in each cube and don’t have to destroy my organized suitcase to find the dress that I was planning on wearing to dinner.

Tip 2: Keep Travel Sized Beauty Products on Deck
When it comes to certain products, I don’t play about them. I always have mini skincare faves like cleanser, moisturizer, SPF, and that serum I never leave behind. Most brands make travel-sized kits of things and my advice to you is to always have one on deck. They are inexpensive and you will be prepared when you book a last-minute trip. I keep them in my clear toiletry bag, inside my suitcase. That way I don’t even have to worry about finding them.

Tip 3: Always Be Ready for Plot Twists
Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready. A portable charger is essential because a dead phone? Absolutely not. A universal adapter is also a great thing to keep in your suitcase. Getting stuck somewhere where you can’t charge your dead phone is not cute. Instead of scrambling to find one there, you already have it. I like to bring a book and travel wallet to keep all my things organized. You might also want to bring painkillers or wrinkle-release spray. Just try and think ahead.
Use these tips and I promise packing for your next trip will not be stressful at all (even if you wait until the last minute). Bon voyage!
